Question of the day:

Why must there be different web standards for browsers?

I understand the need for different browsers themselves but when it comes to interpreting the web and the coding behind it, why can’t we all just get along?

Things I’ve noticed about my portfolio site across 3 different browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE <–gross):

Firefox: Everything works great! Yay Firefox!
Chrome: The link rollovers don’t work for the thumbnails and all the way in the footer, it just says “copyright OMG” instead of OMGChris.
IE: in the footer, it says: “© OMG<’font color=”#80ac2f’>CHRIS” (without the extra ‘ on each side). Frustration. I probably just forgot to close a tag on that one so I’ll fix it…but still.

I’m looking to switch to Chrome soon. It’s real nice and fast but I still think Firefox handles everything and renders things the best.
