There was a while where I wasn’t really designing anything personal. After finishing up some freelance work, I’d just want to take a break from it all. After making 2 new birthday posters for Tiffany and Alec, I was in the mood to keep making stuff.
The idea for this one came to me yesterday and I got to work right away. I’ve always loved vintage advertisements and travel posters and I’ve always loved the juxtaposition of technology and pre-60′s America (probably stemming from Tex Avery’s old “House of Tomorrow” skits). I really love this piece and it’s definitely going in my portfolio!
